just played around a little bit, I think the bottom one is my favorite. I was trying to go with that waiting/progress bar image someone (sorry I forgot who!) had in their mood board. so sort of like "streaming.." as in loading, etc.

I think that direction is a valid pursuit, less, stream = river, more digital . a few more yellow slashes that fade could look cool.
