Logo Sketch(s)

Here are some logo sketches I did with the word “reverb”. Because of the nature of the word, I was leaning more towards repetition and/or reflection of the letters themselves in order to create a logo.

These are various images that I thought would pertained to the word “reverb.” I took these because there are only so many ways of visually communicating sound, since is not visible. While taking/choosing these, I noticed that there seems to be an emphasis on light refraction/waves, as well as organic repeating matter, and hand crafted letterforms.

I began my research by looking for examples of artists and scientists who have attempted visualizing sound. These images mostly consisted of strong geometry, fractals, lines, or concentric circles.

Group 2: Project 4 - Valentine's Day Party

Our Valentine's Day party takes a different approach. The event is called KRIMZEN and the theme is a bloody valentine. Basically, anything dark, bloody and out of the ordinary is associated with this party and anything goes. The party will take place on the eve of Valentine's Day which just so happens to be Friday the 13th at Glas Kat in SOMA.

Proj 2 - mood board, plastic boxes

My idea is to have all the display cases/boards be made out of clear plastic to take advantage of the very large space and ambient light. Clear plastic is a very clean, crisp element, reminiscent of water and air and other "stream"-like concepts. It also allows light to stream through. I think it is very important for the exhibit to not overshadow the work presented, instead functioning as a supporting foundation for the pieces, much like the DAI department itself.
Project 2: Name Mood Board
Because this is the 20th anniversary of the show, I think of Stream as streamers, which is used for celebration with images of fireworks, confetti, and bright colorful lights. I also see stream as, of course, waterfalls. Since this exhibit is only in the Spring, I picture flowers like the cherry blossom.

Mood Board : Stream
Project 2: Mood Board

The name for the show is “steam” after the idea of steamers. It is a party item, so the show should be party like with party items such as balloons and cake with sweets. The logo should be a fluid wiggle symbol like how the strips are from the streamer. Some ideas that I came up with were ribbons, flowy lines, curves, many things that twisted. The images I gathered are some examples of what I thought of.
Sherwin David - Project 2: Stream Mood Board

Since we all came up with the name 'stream' for the 20th anniversary of this year's DAI student exhibit, my mood board consist of images relating to the word. I was envisioning images that flow like the stream or a river without being too literal. I thought that images of flowing hair and waterfall as well as auroras to be interesting. Brain waves and the like also came into my thoughts how shapes of streaming or flowing or waves can be found in nature such as trees or in space. I included images in my mood board that might inspire some of us to use for the logo, logotype or both.
